Process Operator (Operations Operator)

Purpose of the role

Conduct operation unit routine job field activity and DCS operator activity during shift work to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operation and comply with INEOS 20 safety principles and live saving rules.

Key Results/Accountabilities expected from role

IMS (Integrated Management System)

Implement & assure QEHS policy, documenting, evaluating & improving QEHS and its monitoring.

SHE

• Prepare and control the issued permit to work (PTW) to make sure that all work activity is done safely and comply with INEOS 20 safety principles and life saving rules.
• Control all process parameter to keep unit running in normal operation limit (NOL) and not exceed the safe operation limit (SOL) and safe design limit (SDL).
• Prepare JSA for requested job, weekly safety checklist, cross safety audit and safety observation.

PEOPLE

• Good communication skill to coordinate the task with maintenance people and contractor to make sure the job is done safely and comply with INEOS safety regulation.
• Good communication skill to coordinate the task with field operator to make sure no deviation process parameter between field and DCS.
• Good communication skill with others DCS operator on duty to avoid any malfunction operation unit.

PLANT PROCESS AND ASSET MONITORRING

• Conduct regularly field patrol log sheet & DCS log sheet during shift work and communicate the result to next shift.
• Analyze the log sheet data and DCS log sheet and communicate with the shift Supervisor in charge if any deviation found during log sheet.
• Conduct field routine activity such as taking sample , prepare all chemicals are used in operation process and housekeeping for work area.
• Operate DCS Control console to coordinate and regulate process variable of various process and utility stream according to operation target requirement, monitor and adjust operation process parameter for ensuring efficiency of operation process.
• Control operation unit process parameter to prevent SOL and SDL excursion occurs during his shift work.
• Check and identify any abnormality of operation equipment and DCS proses parameter and report any abnormalities found to shift Supervisor in charge.
• Control product quality as targeted and conduct process adjustment.
• Conduct weekly safety checklist and report any abnormality to shift supervisor in charge.
• Conduct Start up and shutdown operation equipment based on available procedure.
• Coordinate start up, shutdown (normal and emergency operation) and normal operation with Shift Supervisors and fields operators.
• Recommend process improvement to enhanced operational efficiency and safety.
• Be part of shift “asset care “team and responsible to conduct asset care activity on shift group dedicated area

Key Challenges faced on the role

• Understand process operation as overall and procedures related with start-up/shutdown equipment.
• Understand field operator role & DCS operator role during emergency condition.
• Shift hand over to make sure all critical information during shift work is handed over to next shift.

Other relevant information

• Start-up and shutdown oxidation & purification procedure.
• Emergency procedure

Experience & Expertise

• Minimum Diploma D-3 or more from chemical background
• Previous experience as a production operator or in a related field preferred.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.

Work Experience:

Fresh graduated or 2 - 3 years of experience at Petrochemical company.
