The Position: Reporting to the FMS Team Leader, we are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Balikpapan team supporting the FMS portfolio. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, Delivery Leads, and clients, to ensure the deployment of high-quality, innovative software products that enhance Client’s mining operations.

In addition but not limited to the following responsibilities.

Technical

• Troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues by leveraging technical software knowledge and an in-depth knowledge of Hexagon’s suite of products.
• Integrate new software solutions with existing systems and technologies used in mining operations, ensuring seamless data flow and compatibility between different software and hardware components.
• Partner with Project Manager ‘s and hardware team on the coordination and set up for deployment campaigns.

Operational

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption to client operations during support and upgrade activities
• Maintain, enhance, and adhere to Hexagon and client documentation and reporting standards, systems, processes, policies, and procedures, participating in audits when required.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders, providing timely, accurate, and respectful support that fosters strong relationships and confidence in our processes
• Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication, effective problem-solving, and a commitment to service excellence through Hexagon values and trusted partner relationship

Travel

• This position may require travel to client sites ad hoc as per required. All travel and accommodation will be provided by business.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is ready for the next step in their career, where your knowledge, skills, experience and passion can be brought to the forefront of your role. Ideally you will have hands on systems experience with Linux in a operational environment

In addition, we are seeking those with the following qualifications and skills.

Technical

• Tertiary Qualifications in Software/Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering, computer science or related fields,
• Prior experience within mining, ideally across Fleet Management Systems/safety system product suites
• Experience with Linux OS and shell scripting
• Background in systems administration or support engineering or operational technology
• Knowledge of C++ OR Objective-C programming languages
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• Experience working in the mining industry. Global experience desirable.

Recruitment Process: Please note, we are applying a multistage interviewing model that will include video interviews, and practical exam within a Linux operating server. Applicants will be advised throughout process on such requirements. Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks prior to offer of employment
