Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Data Engineer to join our team and take ownership of cloud optimization, scalable data pipelines, analytics, and API development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS), data engineering, backend technologies (Java, Spring), and analytics platforms. You will play a key role in optimizing our cloud resources, integrating and transforming data for actionable insights, and ensuring seamless API functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Optimize AWS infrastructure to minimize traffic costs and enhance performance.
• Implement cost-effective solutions using AWS tools such as Cost Explorer, Reserved Instances, and CloudFront.
• Monitor cloud usage and suggest improvements for scalability and reliability.
• Design and develop robust ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into MySQL databases.
• Manage data workflows to unify and transform datasets for business analytics.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Integrate Google Analytics data with other sources to enable advanced reporting.
• Develop and maintain dashboards using tools such as Grafana, Elastic, and Retool to provide actionable insights.
• Define and track key metrics for performance and engagement.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs for internal and external data sharing.
• Ensure APIs are secure, scalable, and aligned with business requirements.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs with data pipelines and analytics platforms.
• Write and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring framework.
• Manage and optimize MySQL databases for efficient query execution and data retrieval.
• Ensure seamless integration of backend services with cloud infrastructure.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code.
• Debug and troubleshoot system issues.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements (5+ years experience:

• Fluent English - hard requirement
• Proficiency in Java and Java Spring.
• Deep experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Cost Explorer).
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and ElasticSearch, with experience in optimization and scaling.
• Expertise in designing and managing ETL processes and data workflows.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Google Analytics and data visualization tools like Grafana and Retool.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana), and DevOps practices is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
