The Position: Reporting to the Team Lead SMART Centre, we are seeking an Operational Support Engineer to join a collaborative and dynamic team where your responsibility will be to provide technical support to clients in solution finding and problem solving any technical or performance issues within our product offering.

Our SMART centre in Balikpapan partners with our clients across the APAC region providing 24/7 support. This position will see you work with a broad range of internal and external teams, working cross functionally to resolve operational issues, analyse data to optimise performance, and contribute to operational excellence.

A dynamic role that will expand as our business grows and expands our service model, you will be encouraged and supported to continue to find opportunities to enhance our software offerings/solutions to our customer as their needs evolve and proactively identifying opportunities for Hexagon and our clients to find synergy in our solutions to their productivity demands.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate within a dynamic team environment, leveraging the latest tools and technologies that Hexagon provides, all while supporting clients across diverse mining industry sectors throughout APAC region.

About You

This position is ideal for someone with a passion for technology, problem solving, data analysis, and delivering exceptional customer service, who can provide proactive solutions and ability to troubleshoot problems with Mining Operational Technology.

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field (or suitable industry experience).
• 4+ years of experience in mining industry as fleet management system engineer.
• Strong technical proficiency, with experience Mining Fleet Management Systems, SQL Server (T-SQL) for troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Prior experience in training technical process/procedures to wider team or new starters
• Ability to utilise mining data for customer consultation or recommendations
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts to both mining and non-mining stakeholders.
• High proficiency in English, both verbal and written communication.

Desirable, not essential

• Experience with HxGN MineOperate OP Pro mining fleet management systems
• Previous role as mine controller.
• Level 2 certification of Hexagon MineOperate OP Pro training.
• Knowledge of operational improvement frameworks (Lean Six Sigma or similar).

Travel:

• The role is primarily based in the Balikpapan office but may require some domestic and international travel as required.
