We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Developer to drive the design, development, and optimisation of our server-side applications and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend development using Node.js and TypeScript, following best practices and clean coding standards.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs for mobile and web applications.
• Collaborate closely with the Mobile and Web teams to ensure high-quality API integration and consistent data flows.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous integration processes to enhance the quality of the product
• Conduct code reviews and act as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level backend developers.
• Optimise backend performance, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Keep up to date with emerging backend technologies, tooling, and cloud best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services (Amplify, Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, S3, etc.).
• Proven experience designing scalable, distributed backend systems.
• Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Experience with serverless architecture or microservices.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in technical leadership or mentoring.
