Role Description

Green School Bali is seeking a passionate and organized School Librarian to manage and animate our school library as a dynamic learning hub. This role combines the management of library resources with active support for students and staff in promoting a culture of reading, research, and literacy aligned with our mission of educating for sustainability in a wall-less, nature-based environment.

AS A SCHOOL LIBRARIAN, ARE YOU?

Position Criteria

• Has Bachelor degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
• Has ability to sort efficiently in alphabetic, numeric, or alphanumeric order and to develop a working
• Has understanding of the Dewey Decimal and order systems of library materials arrangement.
• Has ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the borrowers
• Has ability to understand and perform assigned library procedures
• Has ability to use library computer program and system
• Has a good interpersonal skill
• Has excellent working knowledge of English grammar and spelling and the ability to speak English proficiently

• A wall-less, all natural learning environment, with creative program development opportunities
• A multicultural community of about 450 students with around 140 children across grades 1 to 5.
• Total staff of 80 teachers and 154 staff
• With a professional, dynamic, faculty and staff with a purpose

TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR

• Assists with library programs and displays.
• Assist staff and students in checking out/ in books.
• Prepare, repair or recondition library materials.
• Prepare library cards for borrowers.
• Processes new books, with labels and barcodes
• Choose stories to read to classes when they visit the library each week
• Create activities for extracullicullar program
• Open library time at recess and free time after lunch
• Inventory books at the end of the year and work with the finance department to recoup payment for lost or missing books.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (by Indonesian Law)

• Must have experience at least 1 year as Librarian
• Must not have any previous criminal convictions (legally required).
• Must not have Child Protection concerns on file at previous schools or workplaces.
• Must be able to provide an original copy of certifications, transcripts, diplomas and degrees (legally required).
