Position Summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Workshop Technician will provide support to maintenance, repair, and preparation of subsea robotic equipment in the workshop, ensuring readiness for offshore operations in compliance with company safety and quality standards. This position is in Batam, Indonesia.

Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL Basic Maintenance & Repair

• Perform visual inspections and cleaning of subsea robotic components.
• Assist senior technicians in basic mechanical and electrical repairs.

Equipment Preparation

• Prepare tools, spare parts, and materials according to project requirements.
• Check equipment completeness before dispatch to operational sites.

Testing & Documentation

• Assist in basic functional testing of equipment in the workshop.
• Complete inspection forms and job reports as per procedures.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all tasks follow HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) procedures.
• Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) according to standards.

NON-ESSENTIAL These tasks are not critical to workshop operations but contribute to efficiency and organization: Administrative Assistance

• Help with maintaining records of tools and materials usage.
• Assist in preparing reports related to workshop support activities.

Training and Skill Development

• Participate in training sessions on workplace safety, equipment handling, and maintenance procedures.
• Learn basic technical skills to support workshop operations more effectively.

Additional Support Tasks

• Assist other departments with non-technical support tasks when needed.
• Help set up for company events or meetings within the workshop facility.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIRED

• Minimum education: Vocational High School (SMK) in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Automotive or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in equipment maintenance or repair (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, electrical systems, and measuring tools.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Willingness to learn subsea robotic technology and attend internal training.
• Detail-oriented, disciplined, and a good team player.

DESIRED

• Internship or work experience in ROV, heavy equipment maintenance, marine, or automation.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Basic understanding of workshop tools and equipment.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
• Awareness of workplace safety and willingness to adhere to safety protocols.

• This position is considered WORKSHOP WORK which is characterized as follows.
• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
• Work surface is stable (flat).
