Role Descriptions

• Monitor security systems 24/7, overseeing logs and events in the SIEM (e.g., Secure60, Wazuh) to detect anomalies or suspicious activities. This includes monitoring network traffic, access to critical systems, and unusual login activities.
• Conduct an initial analysis of detected incidents to determine their severity and whether they require escalation to SOC Tier 2. This involves examining indicators such as failed login attempts, unusual traffic spikes, or malware detection.
• Create incident tickets and document all incidents, including the actions taken and initial analysis results. These reports are used to track and further escalate incidents.
• Take swift actions such as closing connections, stopping services, or isolating infected devices to prevent further spread before escalating the incident to Tier 2 or Tier 3, if necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in cybersecurity roles, focusing on SOC operations.
• Ability to provide monitoring support 24/7 on shifting schedules.
• Capable of escalating issues to Tier 2.
• Intermediate to advanced certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) are considered advantageous.
