Key Responsibilities:
Demand Planning and Procurement:
Analyze demand forecasts and MRP reports to determine optimal inventory levels.
Source and procure materials from domestic and international suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and supplier qualification processes.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure timely and accurate material supply.
Expedite material shortages to support production line stability
Maintain accuracy of MRP database to allow for accurate planning and supplier performance monitoring.
Maintain purchase orders and supporting documents
Supply Chain Optimization:
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as supplier consolidation, freight optimization, and inventory reduction.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like PPV, on-time delivery, product availability, PO management (expedite, de-expedite, cancel, increase, decrease), DPM and fill rate.
Utilize data analytics tools (PowerBI) to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
Work with the operations team to optimize production schedules and minimize lead times.
Maintain market awareness with respect to assigned commodities and proactively communicate supply constraints and technological trends.
The Buyer/Planner III will also be expected to coordinate/support activities with the Global Supply Chain Management Team in implementing best practices in the development, ownership and maintenance of global supply chain business relationships.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Collaborate with the quality team to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory standard.
Manage non-conforming materials (NM) and return material authorizations (RMAs).
Process Material Return Authorizations with suppliers and ensure proper application of credit on a timely basis.
Work with engineering and R&D teams on new product introductions (NPIs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
Order Fulfillment and Logistics:
Manage the order-to-cash process, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and distribution channels.
Manage international shipments, including customs clearance and compliance with import/export regulations.
NPI Support
Support engineering and production through the implementation of ECOs within the supply chain.
Support Research & Development in product introduction.
Participate in cross-functional team meetings as required.
Lead/participate in pricing and service negotiations for assigned commodities/suppliers
Participate in contract reviews with suppliers.
System and Data Management:
Utilize ERP systems and other tools to manage procurement, inventory, and production processes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the system.
Generate reports and dashboards to track performance and identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or 3+ years of directly related work experience can substitute for education.
3+ years of Purchasing or Materials management experience, with electronics production environment preferred.
Experience in medical devices or other industry operating under regulatory requirements preferred.
Strong experience across a broad range of commodities preferred.
Experience in planning, forecasting and responding to drop in demand requirements.
Working knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques, DFx, Lean, Six Sigma preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and meet the deadlines.
Excellent communication skills across organization and with various stakeholders.
Agile, ERP, Excel and SharePoint system users preferred.
Successful completion of Spacelabs training required (including training done at Company location).
Some Project Management and cross-functional team leadership experience preferred.
ISM Certification a plus.
